‘STILL LIFE’ Rehearsals and Prep

We’ve had a busy few weeks of in-person rehearsals and wrapping up storyboarding. It’s been amazing to see this eclectic cast come together. It’s really brought to life the script in ways I couldn’t have predicted. Some improv sessions even led to some of the funniest lines of the film now. It’s incredibly exciting to witness the characters come alive and it all feels very real now. We were in both London and Cardiff running through key scenes from the film and it’s all coming together magnificently!
So what’s next? Finalising storyboards first and foremost, then we’re onto makeup tests, a test shoot (for aspect ratio and perspective shifts), lighting plans based on DP Oliver Biggs’ 3D scan of our locations and then it’s the nitty gritty of costume, production design and props. The schedule is locked, we have all the elements, now we just have to draw it together over the coming 7 weeks! We’re all super excited for what could be the craziest most original thing we’ve worked on together, and a return to comedy no less.
We’re also looking for extras for a couple of key scenes, so drop us a message if you’d like to have a brief cameo end of June/early July!
For those unfamiliar with the synopsis to our latest feature ‘STILL LIFE’, please see below:
Chuck is cursed to live out his days like a piece of furniture on one spot, unageing, watching the episodic highs and lows of countless houseguests’ lives pass before him. Presented in two linear narratives, jumping back and forth between the day Chuck became frozen in time and the following decades, his best friend Les his sole caregiver, constantly questioning will he be released? More importantly, will their home survive when it comes under threat of demolition by a giant tech company?
An absurd, poignant, picaresque comedy spanning 30 years.
