April’s Artist of the Month goes to Srdjan Marinkovic (a.k.a. Retro Grad) – a composer (and one man band) from Zrenjanin, Banat, Serbia – treading a fine line between classical and electronic ambient music.
Srdjan is looking to realize collaborations with video artists over the coming years – “Modern means of communication makes cooperation easier and that should be used. Such kind of cooperation can bring unexpectedly good results and yet it enables every participant to creatively express themselves”
Music Connection Magazine had this to say of his work – “Piquant harps and heavy beats that conjure an upbeat, optimistic aura. The uber-kinetic “A Full Circle” melds bouncey keyboards and heavy beats for an IBM techie commercial vibe or videogame racecar music. “Wish” uses soothing synths as a counterpoint to bright, spry keyboard effects that scintillate.”
Srdjan has worked with a number of individuals, in various mediums, including members of Sasketch Show (one of our Artists of the Month last year)
